St. Bernard Project (SBP) is a non-profit, community-based organization that rebuilds homes that were damaged by floodwaters from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. AmeriCorps members with this program serve 10 months to provide rebuilding assistance for families who cannot afford contractors, connect clients to services available in the community, and offer advocacy and guidance to families.
