Volunteers needed for Fisheries Fun Run

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Fisheries Fun Run/Walk, hosted by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor in downtown Baton Rouge on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Learn & Serve K-12 Mid-Year Application released

The Louisiana Serve Commission in the Office of Lieutenant Governor has released its 2010-11 Mid-Year Learn and Serve America grant application. This grant provides funding for service-learning programs to be implemented in K-12 public schools during the period January 10, 2011 - May 31, 2011. Airboat volunteers

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana needs volunteers with airboats.   With the help of over 400 volunteers, CRCL will plant 70,000 marsh plants over 2 weeks.  We will plant over 5,000 plugs of smooth and marshhay cordgrass per day to help stabilize and vegetate the bare marsh platforms that were created by the CWPPRA Goose Point/Point Platte Marsh Creation Project.  This project dredged sediments from Lake Pontchartrain to create over 550 acres of marsh platform.…
