Congratulations to Tchefuncte Middle School in Mandeville for being named the Middle School Division winner of the 2010 We Are a Solution: Youth Changing the World Service-Learning Multimedia Showcase. The school will receive $500 to help support their service-learning efforts in their school/organization. K.I.S.S. (Kids Interacting with Seniors Successfully)is coordinated by teacher Heidi Rhea. This is the second time they have won.
Tchefuncte Middle School scored enough points with the judges that their slight loss in the online voting phase did not affect the outcome. The judges stated that "The students' personal touch and emotional connection with their project was charming," and that "this fantastic project...makes me want to go do the same thing!"
