Learn & Serve K-12 Mid-Year Application released

The Louisiana Serve Commission in the Office of Lieutenant Governor has released its 2010-11 Mid-Year Learn and Serve America grant application. This grant provides funding for service-learning programs to be implemented in K-12 public schools during the period January 10, 2011 - May 31, 2011. Service-learning is a teaching methodology that connects the academic curriculum with the completion of service projects student participants that fulfill a community need. Funding is provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Eligible applicants for this grant are K-12 public school teachers, schools, or school districts, and nonprofit organizations that have been in existence for over one year, have experience in working with at-risk youth, and can provide projects for the student participants.
