RSVP Funding Available in Lincoln, Bienville Parishes

The Louisiana State Office of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) announces the availability of federal grant funds to support a Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Lincoln and Bienville parishes. Funds of $57,468 per year are available to support 200 volunteers.  All interested parties are invited to participate in an informational teleconference on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. To receive meeting logistical information, please contact Pam Olson, Louisiana State Program Director (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

Public or private nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and other community organizations; tribal government; institutions of higher education; and government entities within Bienville or Lincoln parishes are eligible to apply for funding. Existing sponsoring agencies are eligible to apply, although preference will not be given to agencies currently or formerly receiving CNCS funds. The Corporation encourages organizations that have never received funding from the Corporation or Senior Corps to apply for the grants.

Applications must be submitted to the Corporation State Office by 5:00 pm on May 14, 2010. The successful applicant shall be awarded the funds to start the new program on July 1, 2010. For more information about the grant, visit Senior Corps Grant Application Form and Instructions .

An original and two copies of the application are due to the CNCS Louisiana State Office no later than 5 p.m. CST on Friday, May 14, 2010. Electronic or faxed submissions will not be accepted. Submit applications to:
