The Louisiana Serve Commission is hosting a series of regional meetings to help us understand what volunteering and service look like in communities across our state. We will use these conversations to develop a three-year State Service Plan. This plan will guide us in designing programs and services to help communities and organizations engage citizens for greater impact. The first meeting is in Alexandria on January 15.
We want to hear your ideas:
- What do you perceive to be your community's top three needs which could be addressed through service?
- How can the the Commission attract people of all ages to serve?
- How can the Commission attract people specifically 50 years and older to serve? How can the Commission attract people with disabilities to serve?
- How can the Commission attract veterans to serve?
- How can the Commission engage diverse faith and community-based agencies in service and volunteerism?
- What do you perceive to be barriers to serving in your community?
- How can technology help in engaging citizens to serve?
- What are some examples of great volunteer projects or service opportunities in your community?
- Who are the outstanding volunteers in your community?
