Opportunity Title:

Dining Room

Opportunity Description:

St. Vincent de Paul serves a nutritionally balanced and delicious hot meal every day at lunch in its Dining Room. We would like to have twelve volunteers each day to assist in serving our guests. Ten volunteers serve the food while two volunteers give Bags of Hope to guests as they exit the Dining Room. A volunteer must be eighteen years of age to serve food in the Dining Room. Minor children may participate by distributing the Bags of Hope if accompanied by a parent or guardian. A minor volunteer waiver is linked to this sign up that you must print out, sign and bring with you when you come to volunteer. The commitment of time is from 11 AM until 1 PM. After the last guest is served at 1 PM, we invite our volunteers to stay and have lunch with us.

All races, creeds, colors, origins, castes, opinions and genders are served. The Society's history in the Capital Region began in 1865. Since then, the Society has been striving to recognize and meet the needs of the poor in our community. Today we have over 20 Conferences whose members make home visits to help the poor.
