Teach for America | Volunteer Louisiana

Teach for America

Teach For America is the national corps comprised of outstanding college graduates who commit two years to teach in underserved public schools and in doing so become lifelong leaders in expanding educational opportunity.  260 Teach for America corps members work in more than 100 urban and rural high-poverty, low-performing schools across the state of Louisiana.  They are full time teachers, promote academic growth for students, engage as volunteer leaders within their schools and communities, and engage parents and community members as volunteers.  They also participate in service activities and engage in continually developing students' leadership and citizenship skills.
