Sweet Dreams Shelter Manna Giver
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT VOLUNTEERING TO BE A MANNA GIVER MEANS THAT YOU WILL PURCHASE OR PREPARE A MEAL AND DELIVER IT TO THE GUESTS IN THE SHELTER.
PLEASE CALL FIVE DAYS BEFORE YOUR SERVING DATE TO ASK HOW MANY GUESTS ARE CURRENTLY IN THE SHELTER.
The Sweet Dreams Shelter located at 1623 Convention Street in Baton Rouge provides shelter for single women and women with children in need of a safe place while attempting to gain independence.
Manna Givers are the lifeblood of the shelters. We are so very grateful to the individuals and groups that take their valuable time and resources to purchase or prepare a delicious meal for the guests in the shelters. Guests are heartened that strangers are willing to go to great lengths to sustain them in such a generous and loving way.
Manna Givers are asked to prepare a meal that includes a meat, vegetable and a starch. Desserts and beverages are optional and we provide the paper goods. We encourage you to stay and serve the meal to the guests and have fellowship with them. If you choose to do this, please bring enough food for your volunteers to enjoy as well.
