Team Rubicon

Who We Are:

Team Rubicon is a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. Founded in 2010 with the expressed goal of quickly responding to large-scale disasters, Team Rubicon has deployed thousands of volunteers across the United States and world to provide relief to communities in need. When disaster strikes, we work hard to help the most vulnerable in need. By working with or alongside local agencies and governments, Team Rubicon seeks to be of the utmost service to those in need.

What We Do:

Disasters can happen anywhere at any time. Team Rubicon exists to provide the greatest service and impact to survivors and communities in need, no matter where. Simply put, we help people on their worst days. Team Rubicon deploys on three types of operations – response, recovery, and mitigation – providing free services such as chainsaw operation, debris management, muck-and-guts, roof-tarping, and much more. Volunteering with Team Rubicon is a unique experience. You’ll deploy to a community in a time of need to provide meaningful and impactful service. You’ll create strong bonds with the men and women on your left and right. You’ll finish the job tired, sore, and proud.

We understand not everyone can swing a 20 lb. sledgehammer for a week straight. And not everyone can take a week away from work and family to travel across the country. If you are passionate about serving, there is a role for you. The only prerequisite required for volunteering with Team Rubicon is a commitment to service. As a Greyshirt, you will be responsible for providing immediate and impactful aid to communities affected by disaster. If you are willing to raise your hand to help those in need, we’re ready to get you in a grey shirt.

Volunteer Planning Lead

Planners are the front-line sentries for Team Rubicon. As a planner, you'll provide early warning of potential disasters to your geographic area team, collect disaster information, and manage mission planning activities to get the right Team Rubicon resources to the area of most need, as quickly as possible, to help survivors on their worst day.

During blueskies, our planners play a pivotal role in building relationships with emergency managers

Volunteer Communications Lead

The Communications Leader is charged with pushing the story of Team Rubicon far and wide while disseminating timely information to Greyshirts within your Area of Operation. There are several roles within Comms, starting with Public Information Officers, photographers, social media gurus to, but not ending at, marketers. A great Comms Leader is a TR brand standards champion that loves sharing stories across digital platforms.
